Terms of Service

Last updated: May 7, 2026

These Terms govern your use of MasterAlp. By creating an account or otherwise using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

MasterAlp provides adaptive learning, assessment, and analytics tools for higher-education courses. We may add, remove, or change features. We'll give material notice (at least 14 days, in-product) before substantive changes that affect how you can use the platform.

Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information at signup and keep your credentials secure.
  • You may not share your account, attempt to access another user's data, or scrape the platform.
  • Professors are responsible for the content they upload and the assessments they publish.
  • We may suspend an account that violates these Terms or that is being used in a way that endangers other users (e.g. credential stuffing, abusive language to other users).

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Upload material you don't have rights to share, or that contains malware, hate content, or content unlawful under applicable law.
  • Reverse-engineer the adaptive engine or use the service to build a competing product.
  • Submit prompt-injection payloads or otherwise attempt to manipulate AI responses, grading, or analytics.
  • Use the service to cheat on, or facilitate cheating on, assessments outside MasterAlp's designed flows.

Your content

You retain ownership of materials you upload and answers you submit. You grant MasterAlp a non-exclusive licence to process that content solely to operate the service for you and your institution. We do not use student answers, materials, or PII to train third-party AI models — see the Privacy Policy.

Pricing & cancellation

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually as shown at checkout. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Pilot terms are governed by a separate written agreement with the institution.

Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. AI-generated content can be wrong; treat it as a study aid, not authoritative answers. Do not rely on MasterAlp for high-stakes decisions without independent verification.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, MasterAlp and its owners are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, or data, arising from or related to your use of the service. Our aggregate liability under these Terms will not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or US$100 if greater.

Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California. Disputes will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Santa Clara County, California.

Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes are announced in-product at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept them.
